Tips On Creating Web Sites People Will Visit

The goal of any web site is to bring in a steady stream of traffic. The design of the site does play a role in whether or not people are going to the web site, but there are things you can do as well to give your site the best odds possible. Here are four tips to lead you towards traffic success.
1) Images with captions – This may seem like a minor thing but it can help boost your site’s rankings. Images, as you may already know, are good on blogs and on web sites. But you can use them to their fullest potential by adding keyword-rich captions below them. The spiders will sometimes use these captions to determine the ranking of the picture in image search results.
2) Linkbait – Linkbait is the term describing something on your site that makes people want to link back to you. That means you want to have linkbait on your site. But you need your “bait” to be appropriate to the site. If you’re a health insurance broker, for example, telling jokes on your site might not work. If you’re trying to book gigs as a comedian, it probably would be a great example of linkbait.
3) One Keyword per Page – Although it doesn’t hurt to have a few other keywords appear on the page, you want to focus your optimization efforts on one keyword per page. That’s because you really want to gear the content towards that keyword. Don’t make the word or phrase seem like an afterthought that was just thrown into the existing content.
4) Content Exchange – You need fresh content for your site on a regular basis, but you also need backlinks to increase your search engine ranking. Here’s a solution. Find another site which would cater to a similar audience. Write an article both audiences would find interesting and have the owner of the other site do the same. Exchange articles and post it on your site along with a link to your appearance on the other site.
Following these tips and continuing to write high quality content is the best way to get good traffic numbers.
